Create Your Fund Now

Would you like to honor your loved one in a special way?

By creating your very own Tribute Fund page, you can generate Hope for the future and Help for the present as you raise funds for our pALS (People with ALS) and their families. And through it all, ALS of Michigan is Here for You always.

These pages are devoted to Michigan's ALS Community and to those who are courageously battling this disease. However, you are also welcome to set up a fund for any other purpose. Donations made to your fund will make a tremendous difference in our ongoing efforts to help our pALS and their families live life as fully as possible.

For any assistance with creating or working with your special fund, please call Joanne at 1-800-882-5764, or email her now!

This picture is our Dad/Grandpa Al/husband with his first two grandchildren, Louis and David in 1983. He has a total of seven (7) grandchildren, and great-grandchildren now number seven (7) too. What a wonderful testimony to an amazing person.

Al was diagnosed with ALS (bulbar) in December 1985, after experiencing slurred speech for many months. Like so many pALS, he was first diagnosed with a stroke and went to speech therapy. After, several months of therapy, and with worsening symptoms, he was given the "ALS" diagnosis.

On September 27, 1986 Al Burstein lost his battle with ALS.

Al's primary focus in his life was his family. He would tell his children that it was O.K. with him if they lived at home "forever." His wife, his kids, and his grandchildren meant everything to him, and he to us. There wasn't a person, who ever met Al, that didn't instantly become a friend. He was truly, a one of a kind.

He will be forever in our hearts and in our memories.

This page is dedicated to the memory of a wonderful man. Our pledge is to provide help to all of Michigan's pALS and their families who are living with ALS.
